Your Trusted Safety Partner for Small & Medium Businesses

Safety at work involves training, hazard control, PPE, compliance, regulations, and health.

How does this work?

Once you make contact I will schedule a phone or video call with you to discuss your needs and answer any questions. If you would like to proceed, I will undertake a baseline site assessment, identify the key risks and create a mitigation strategy for you, presented as a summary report. There will be no cost to yourselves until a work plan has been agreed.

Who are your services suitable for?

I work with small and medium sized businesses including hospitality & leisure, retail & consumer services, offices and professional services,   cleaning & facilities, health & social care.

What does a H&S Consultant do?

I can help you to identify risks within your business and ensure legal compliance.  Check out the services section for more detail.

Do I legally need a H&S Policy?

If you have over 5 employees - yes you do and it must be written. Failure to have this in place risks fines, legal action, invalidated insurance, and unsafe working conditions .

How much does it cost?

Cost varies depending on whether it involves:

  • A one‑off assessment
  • Ongoing retained support
  • Creation of documentation
  • Audits

Costs can be calculated on a day rate or quoted for an agreed work plan.

What are my legal obligations?

You are legally obliged to:

  • Provide safe systems of work, safe equipment, and safe premises
  • Provide information, instruction, training and supervision necessary for safety
  • Ensure safe use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances
  • Maintain safe access and egress to the workplace
  • Carry out suitable and sufficient risk assessments to identify hazards and control risks
  • Have a written H&S policy if you have 5 or more employees
  • Consult with employees on H&S matters
  • Protect others from the impact of the work (customers, neighbours, contractors)
  • Appoint a Competent Person to oversee or advise on H&S (internal or external to the organisation)

What could happen if we don`t comply?

Failure to comply can lead to:

  • Improvement or prohibition notices
  • Fines
  • Criminal prosecution
